Our core beliefs

Jesus is the Cornerstone

Jesus Christ is the head of His Church and Jesus is the chief cornerstone upon which this church is built (Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Corinthians 3:11).

Sola Scriptura (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Proverbs 30:5-6), the scripture is the holy and inerrant word of God. The ultimate, infallible authority for Christian faith and practice.

God’s inspired Word is sufficient, clear, and supreme—there is no equal authority from culture, tradition or  councils. Our founding principle is to learn His Word (scripture) and put it into action in our lives. We seek to honor Jesus by learning His Word and doing it.

God the Father

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. God the Father is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love, He is the eternal, sovereign Creator and source of all things.

We are one body and we have one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism and all of this flows from the One God and Father of all who created everything that exists and made our souls the masterpiece of His creation.

He is personal, holy, and the loving Father of believers through Jesus Christ. He is one God, the 1st Person of the Trinity, distinct yet one in essence with the Son and Holy Spirit. See also: (John 3:16, 4:24, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, I Timothy 1:17).

God the Son

John 1:1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the Word and the Word is God. His eternal existence, deity, role in creation and life giving light are described in John 1:1-5. John the Baptist’s witness to Jesus’ light that is life and the world’s rejection/reception of Him is told of in John 1:6-13

Jesus is eternally God the Son, He is the 2nd Person of the Trinity—fully God and fully man. He is the only begotten Son, sharing the same divinity as the Father. See also: (Titus 2:13, Isaiah 9:6, Colossians 2:9-10, 1 John 5:20)

The Holy Spirit

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

1 Corinthians 2:9-11 tells us that the “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him” and that these mysteries will be revealed by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the 3rd Person of the Trinity—fully God, a person (not a force), who convicts, indwells, regenerates, seals, guides, teaches, empowers, and produces fruit in believers. He glorifies Christ and applies salvation. See also: (Galatians 5:22-23, John 14:16-17, 26, John 16:13, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13-14)

Prayer

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Pray continually according to Scripture. Approach God the Father through Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We strive to build our lives and the church on obedient, faith-filled prayer grounded in God’s Word alone.
